Creatures of Leisure

Creatures of Leisure

The world's leading surf accessories brand.

Yallingup, Western Australia, is the home and testing ground for Creatures of Leisure products. Situated on the wave-rich southwest coast of Western Australia, Yallingup and its surrounding areas have bred some of the world's best surfers for several generations.

The region boasts numerous breaks along a relatively short coastline, most with a reputation for quality and power comparable to that of Hawaii. This is the ideal place to test surf accessories.

It was in Yallingup that a young John Malloy established himself after his departure from Los Angeles in 1972. Over the four years that followed, he and his partner developed the world's first urethane leash with injection parts to face the powerful local waves. This business sparked a passion for designing and developing surf accessories that continues to this day.

In everything we do at Creatures of Leisure – and we've been doing this for 30 years now – we strive to merge the lessons of our experience with cutting-edge materials and designs to create quality, highly functional surf accessories. With offices in Western Australia, the Gold Coast, France and California, we have every surfer in the world covered.

None of Creatures of Leisure's surf products are available on the market without extensive training in the waves from our staff and team, or even further, from members of our international team.

Guarantee

Your leash is guaranteed for 2 years against defects in materials and manufacturing. This warranty does not cover fin cuts, natural wear and tear, neglect or abuse. To make a warranty claim, simply return the product and receipt to the place of purchase. If it was purchased from an online store, please follow their customer service steps regarding in-store returns and warranties.

This leash is used at your own risk and should not be considered a lifesaving device. It should not be used as a substitute for good swimming ability, knowledge of the ocean, or proper precautions. The manufacturer, distributor and seller expressly disclaim any liability for injury, death, property damage or other loss or damage to any person arising from the use of this leash.

To avoid permanent creases in your leash cord, avoid wrapping it around your board and fins. A straighter cord means fewer tangles around your foot.

Protect the cord. The exclusive use of Creatures urethane is the result of 25 years of research and development. With several raw urethane compounds available, we have carefully selected and chosen silver, being the strongest you can buy. However, avoid any inappropriate use such as using it to attach boards, etc. Small cuts and imperfections in your cord will reduce its breaking strength, but will not be due to poor materials.

If you have the comfort of a fresh water shower after your surf, remember to rinse it off quickly. Salt water is quite corrosive and rinsing with fresh water will keep the neoprene and webbing as comfortable as new.

Remember to check the cord regularly for small abrasions and/or cuts. The last thing you want in a complicated situation is an equipment failure that could have been avoided by checking it properly. Repetitive stretching and contracting, direct sunlight, salt water, and all the other things that come with moving and surfing will take a toll on all materials.

Creatures offers a one-year limited warranty, from the time of original purchase, against manufacturing defects. Creatures will, at its option, replace any surfboard covers found to be defective under the terms of the one-year limited warranty. This limited warranty excludes normal wear and tear, damage due to misuse and failure of zippers and zippers due to negligence. Claims should be submitted to the store where you purchased the cover. If it was purchased from an online store, please follow their customer service steps regarding in-store returns and warranties.

Creatures uses metal zips on all covers as they are durable and sturdier than plastic alternatives. They can have a much longer lifespan than plastic zips when properly maintained. Now, as we all know, salt water is extremely corrosive to metals. To help you keep your Creatures cover in tip-top shape and ready to travel whenever you are, we'd like to offer you the following simple tips:

Please check your zippers regularly for corrosion (white powder) and take note of the freedom of movement of the zippers around the bag.

If the zips are submerged or are continually in contact with salt water (wet hands and fingers after surfing), please rinse with fresh water.

If your zippers become blocked, please do not force them – instead, wash and brush the zippers and zippers with a mild detergent using a toothbrush to remove corrosion. Once you have removed as much corrosion as possible, apply a generous coat of silicone zipper spray to the zipper and zips. The next step requires patience and a gentle touch; while holding the end of the zipper, gently pull the zipper back and forth – be patient and gentle as this will take some time and you may need to repeat the washing/lubrication steps. Once you have released the zipper, clean and lubricate the corroded zipper area and slider.

If you store your cover for an extended period of time, please wash the zipper and slider with a mild detergent and a toothbrush to remove any dirt and salt water. Next, apply a generous amount of Vaseline or grease to the sliders to prevent corrosion during storage. Fact: Surfboard bags can be an expensive purchase, but considering the job they do to protect and store your boards, a well-maintained and cared for cover will be one of the best investments you can make.

Quite simply, if your zipper gets stuck you need to surf and/or travel more.

Your adhesion is guaranteed for 1 year against defects in materials and manufacturing. This warranty does not cover improper applications, natural wear and tear, neglect or abuse. To make a warranty claim, simply return the product and receipt to the place of purchase. If it was purchased from an online store, please follow their customer service steps regarding in-store returns and warranties.

Remember to follow all package directions when applying your shot. The 3M adhesive we have selected for our entire grip range achieves maximum adhesion when pressure is applied during application and when allowed sufficient time to dry.

There is no need to wax your grip. A block of wax can be quite abrasive and cause traction reliefs to peel away or smooth out. Our high density EVA grips are formulated to give the perfect amount of traction – without wax.

* excluding auto accessories

All Creatures products, unless otherwise stated, are guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not cover natural wear and tear, neglect or abuse. To make a warranty claim, simply return the product and receipt to the place of purchase.

Our products come with guarantees which cannot be excluded under European consumer law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You also have the right to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not constitute a major failure.

Items are classified as defective if they are received damaged or a manufacturing defect occurs within 6 months of purchase. Please note that items damaged through wear and tear are not considered defective. Defective items will be exchanged for the same type of product in the same size, subject to availability.
