"Watching episode 1 of Stab In The Dark with Ethan Ewing got us completely stoked. For a long time, it was a "maybe." Managing to fit Ethan in raised so many "what ifs"...
Ultimately, it ended up being quite easy for us, but we still felt all the anxiety building as the details fell into place. The boards were coming from two different locations, so we picked up one team coffin from CREATURES USA and another here in Australia. We added plenty of traction pads that Ethan usually uses, leashes, a few Day Use bags, board socks, and a lot of other gear to properly equip Ethan with his incredible quiver of blue-railed beauties.
The spot was confirmed and tickets booked. Once the planes had departed, and after confirming that the equipment was safely in the hold, nothing. The first email updates arrived from the Stab team, with a few frame grabs here and there. The anticipation started to build. That was months ago.
But the wait was definitely worth it.
Episode 1 was absolutely insane. Ethan is so good he can pull off 9s while staying seated on his board.

UNSEEN EXTRAS episode 1
EPISODE 1 PHOTOS & FRAMEGRABS
"Ethan loves having reliable and consistent equipment, which is also why he's the perfect candidate for Stab In The Dark. For him to stay focused on the mission, it was essential that the boards arrived in perfect condition, and to provide him with all the gear he knows he can count on. Here's what we sent him..."
COVER BOARD
"You might be wondering what these huge board bags capable of carrying 8 boards are? They are custom models reserved for the team, designed for our elite riders who regularly travel with huge quivers. For 99% of surfers, a Multi Tour, Quad, or Triple is more than enough.
For this epic week-long strike mission, we also sent two Doubles, a few Day Use bags, as well as a bunch of Aerolite board socks, which are clearly team favorites."
Stay tuned for episode 2 of Stab In The Dark. There's SO much more to come…
"Traction pads and leashes are like salt and pepper on a good meal: without them, boards seem bland. Well-chosen and well-placed, they add the finishing touch, something complete, and even savory.
Ethan uses three different traction pad models, each with its own specific features. He chose his Signature black charcoal panel pad for the squash tails, and the PROTO™ Pin Tails for the step-ups."
